چکیده

Events, such as major attacks, exposed weakness in most sophisticated security systems. Various supervision agencies are now more motivated to improve security data based on body or behavioral uniqueness, often called biometrics. Pin or password-based authentication procedures are too easy to crack. Face recognition is non-intrusive since it is based on images recorded by a distant camera, and can be very effective even if the user is not aware of the existence of the face recognition system. The face is the most common characteristic used by humans to recognize other people. Face recognition presents a challenging problem in the field of Pattern Recognition. It has wide range of applications such as law enforcement, banking, logical access control, national identity. In this paper, an overview of some of the wellknown methods in various categories

A comprehensive experimental comparison of the aggregation techniques for face recognition

In face recognition, one of the most important problems to tackle is a large amount of data and the redundancy of information contained in facial images. There are numerous approaches attempting to reduce this redundancy. One of them is information aggregation based on the results of classifiers built on selected facial areas being the most salient regions from the point of view of classificati...

Face Recognition Based Rank Reduction SVD Approach

Standard face recognition algorithms that use standard feature extraction techniques always suffer from image performance degradation. Recently, singular value decomposition and low-rank matrix are applied in many applications, including pattern recognition and feature extraction. The main objective of this research is to design an efficient face recognition approach by combining many tech...

Face Recognition in Thermal Images based on Sparse Classifier

Despite recent advances in face recognition systems, they suffer from serious problems because of the extensive types of changes in human face (changes like light, glasses, head tilt, different emotional modes). Each one of these factors can significantly reduce the face recognition accuracy. Several methods have been proposed by researchers to overcome these problems. Nonetheless, in recent ye...

Face Recognition using Face Alignment and PCA Techniques: A Literature Survey

The face is our key of attention in social communication, playing a main role in transmission identity and sentiment. Hence, Face recognition has become an important issue in many applications such as security systems, credit card verification and criminal identification. In human face profiles, the shape and size of eyes, nose, mouth and their relationship have been commonly used as a feature....

A Survey of 2D Face Recognition Techniques

Despite the existence of various biometric techniques, like fingerprints, iris scan, as well as hand geometry, the most efficient and more widely-used one is face recognition. This is because it is inexpensive, non-intrusive and natural. Therefore, researchers have developed dozens of face recognition techniques over the last few years. These techniques can generally be divided into three categ...

تشخیص چهره با استفاده از PCA و فیلتر گابور

Methods for face recognition which are based on face structure are among techniques without supervision and produce unfavorable results in the presence of linear changes in images. PCA is a linear transform and a powerful tool for data analysis but does not produce good results for face recognition when there are non-linear changes resulting from changes in position, intensity and gesture in th...
